José Luis Aguiló

José  Luis Aguiló was born in Barcelona in 1956.

His interest in painting decided his parents to enroll him in several academies of the city where he will learn the basis of different techniques and styles. Soon he will take part in several awards earning a second award in the Barcelona biennale of 1984.

In 1981 he joins the group of artists of Trece gallery in Barcelona and presents his first solo exhibition, already showing the basis of the abstraction that will mark his oeuvre.

Through his career he has exhibited in New York London or Tokyo and has obtained several grants such as the one given by the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
