Juan Alcalde

Juan Alcalde was born in Madrid in 1918.
 
In 1931 begins his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts of Madrid until 1933, when he will join the prestigious San Fernado School in the same city. Juan Alcalde'es eductarion as a painter was interrupted by the Spanish civil war, and after it he would leave Spain to live between France and Venezuela.
 
In 1960, Juan Alcalde settles in Paris where he joins the group of artists of the School of Paris such as Lobo, Hernando Viñes or Joaquín Peinado. At the begging of the 70s, the French government grants painter Juan Alcalde a House-studio in Paris. In 1980 he does his first trip to New York and in 1983 he settles back in Madrid without losing contact with Paris,
 
Since 2006, painter Juan Alcalde has focused in publishing and illustrating bibliophile books.
